The Extension Roundup is a personal pick of extensions which were published in the first quarter 2016. I tried to choose new extensions and those which received a major update. Hopefully you find a „hidden“ and useful gem.

Every three months I will publish such a roundup. If you find an extension, which should be mentioned here, please drop me a note. I will consider it for the next roundup.

RealURL provides speaking URLs for TYPO3 and thus makes TYPO3 more search engine friendly. Version 2 was released as a complete rewrite focussing maintainability and performance. Furthermore it provides „reasonable“ defaults for the configuration.

The extension Amazon Affiliate offers the possibility to create links to articles on amazon including your affiliate account. It provides a frontend plugin and a extension to the TYPO3 link picker. Versions 2.2.x are compatible with TYPO3 6.2.

„Parsedown“ provides a content type that allows writing markdown text. Below the texture there is a preview element, where you can see the formatted text while writing.

This extension detects and extracts metadata (EXIF / IPTC / XMP / …) from potentially thousand different file types (such as MS Word/Powerpoint/Excel documents, PDF and images) and bring them automatically and natively to TYPO3 when uploading assets.
